I’m Alex Cucchi, a documentary editor and producer with more than a decade of experience shaping films that bring history and human stories to life. I’ve had the privilege of working with Ken Burns and Florentine Films on landmark series including The Vietnam War, Country Music, Benjamin Franklin, and The American Buffalo. More recently, I completed work on a 3-part series on the life of Henry David Thoreau. These projects taught me the value of patience, detail, and finding the emotional heartbeat within every frame.
What I love most about editing is the process of discovery. I love uncovering the unique rhythm of a story, connecting small details into something larger, and creating a viewing experience that feels both effortless and deeply moving. Whether I’m cutting a documentary, producing branded content, or collaborating with small organizations, my goal is always the same: to honor the material and engage the audience.
Alongside my documentary work, I also partner with nonprofits and small brands to create meaningful content.  This work feels like a natural extension of my passion for storytelling, helping these ideas reach new audiences.
At the heart of everything I do is a belief that stories connect us. My role, whether as an editor, producer, or creative collaborator, is to shape those connections in a way that lasts.
